BROKEN PIECES
LANGUAGE: ENGLISH

The Play tells the story of Barbara, whose world revolves around archaeology.
Now it is turned upside down by the disappearance in Egypt of her husband Harold: her partner in both her life and work. Broken Pieces chronicles Barbara’s bittersweet process of remembering – tracing backwards through time to uncover, reclaim and honour both Barbara’s own experiences and Harold, the great love of her life. This was the play’s North East premiere. The production was supported by the Northumberland Cultural Fund. It was produced in association with Queen's Hall Arts and Northumberland Libraries.

In Hexham, Sarah Kemp  directed a short online zoom film with the Queen’s Hall Adult Drama Group in conjunction with TSF and supported by a grant from the Northumberland Cultural Fund. The film script is based on stories from group members and includes a collective poem created with poet Linda France. The group also collaborated with a sister drama group in Amsterdam run by theatre director Loes Hegger. The two groups have exchanged lockdown experiences and each makes a guest appearance in the other group’s film. The Dutch film, Alive and Kicking, premieres on March 24th. 2021

An Uncertain World: film launch and live Q & A with cast and creative team Friday 26 March 2021 at 7.30 pm.
